Arnd Wächter

Crossing Borders (Documentary) Screening

Arnd Wächter

Arnd Wächter’s award winning film has been screened throughout the US and in Europe and the Middle East.  It documents the authentic dialogue between four American students who travel to Morocco (while on study abroad in Spain) to meet with four Moroccan students.  Each has their own perceptions and stereotypes about “the other” and these are directly and beautifully addressed while the group travels for seven days in Morocco. This film serves as the perfect tool to create dialogue about how we see each other and how we can better understand the lens that we see the world through.

Wächter is available to screen the film and to debrief it with students and faculty.  His unique background – born in East Berlin, traveling extensively abroad, studying Comparative Religion and Conflict Resolution, make him a skilled and expressive presenter.  His engaging and passionate approach to the subject of understanding the “other” is unprecedented.  (Note: The film, Crossing Borders, can be screened without his presentation also.)
