Define American

Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas identifies himself as an “illegal alien” in this moving video. Despite his success as a journalist, he could not take the pressure of not being truthful about his situation, so he decided to “out himself” and use his story to create an opportunity for those to better understand the importance of the Dream Act. Needless to say, this is a superb educational tool to create meaningful dialogue about this controversial subject.

Watch this video and then ask yourself: How do you define American?

This is very inspiring. As a Mexican/American with two passports I never had to deal with immigration or have any problems entering any of "my countries." I've grown very close to immigrants whether they are documented or not because we all share something in common. We are all humans and we all have a dream, goals, and needs. I am an aspiring photographer studying at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and I too want to raise awareness concerning immigration and immigrant's rights.
